Clear Vision is housed in the Manchester Buddhist Centre, one of the largest urban Buddhist centres in Europe.
Local Buddhists have turned this Victorian warehouse into a strikingly beautiful place, open to the public.
Clear Vision runs the MBC's education service. Around 2000 pupils and students visit us annually on guided visits, including a tour of the ground floor and shrine room, discussion, Q&A and a meditative stilling exercise (optional).
We offer visits of varying lengths to suit your needs. Please see Group visit costs, below

See below for information on combined visits to
the Buddhist Centre and Manchester Cathedral.

The Place of Peace is a joint venture by Manchester Cathedral (Church of England) and the Manchester Buddhist Centre (Friends of the Western Buddhist Order).

Pupils visit the Cathedral and nearby Buddhist Centre on the same day.We now offer two options:
Sacred Neighbours is our new standard joint tour of these two buildings, exploring their history, architecture and activities and the beliefs underlying these.
The Place of Peace considers the buildings as places of peace, as well as the place of peace in our lives. (The phrase, "the place of peace" comes from the Metta Sutta, a Buddhist text, which describes the attitudes and behaviour which give rise to inner peace.)We can also explore Christian and Buddhist perspectives on issues ofwar, peace and justice.
The cathedral features a regimental chapel, war-time bomb damage andsome of the finest medieval carving in England; the Buddhist Centre is abeautifully converted Victorian cotton warehouse and home to manyBuddhist 'Right Livelihood' projects.
All notes and information on standard Buddhist Centre visits can be found inthe section above. Here are the teacher's notes for Place of Peacevisits to the Buddhist Centre.
£5 per student.
